COL. Michael Hudson (USMC Ret.)
Michael retired as a Colonel after 30 years as a United States Marine Corps Aviator. He has over 4,000 hours of flight time in rotary and fixed-wing aircraft.
He commanded a Helicopter Squadron and a Marine Expeditionary Unit to support combat and contingency operations in Africa, Central, and Pacific Commands; both commands received unit awards for excellence and safety. He has an extensive operations, intelligence, and national security strategy background.
Michael was also tasked to reset the Marine Corps Sexual Assault Prevention Response program and worked closely with the more extensive behavioral health and suicide prevention team to reduce both assaults and suicides. His team developed new, researched, informed processes, data analytics, and leadership engagement strategies to help commanders recognize, mitigate, and better support struggling Marines, Sailors, and the civilian workforce.
Working closely with the Behavior Health team, integrating evidence-based risk signals that correlate with an increased risk for suicide, helped reduce suicides and sexual assaults.
Today, Michael is the Vice President for Insider Threat and Suicide Prevention at ClearForce, a Virginia-based company. He also supports and is on the board for non-profit organizations focused on helping veterans and their families prevent suicide. He has a bachelor’s degree in aeronautics from San Jose State University, a master’s degree in management from Troy State University, and a second master’s in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College. -
COL. Chris Buescher (USMC Ret.)
Christopher “Shrub” Buescher is a retired U.S. Marine Corps Colonel with a background flying the All-Weather Medium Attack A-6E Intruder. He is a graduate of Oregon State University, earning a Business degree in Marketing and a Minor in Psychology. Upon graduation, he was Commissioned in the U.S. Marine Corps. After making his Wings of Gold, he was assigned to a West Coast Marine Intruder squadron, where the squadron did a Carrier deployment to the Indian Ocean, flying off the USS Ranger.
After his Squadron assignment, he was an Instructor Pilot with the A-6E Intruder Fleet Replacement Squadron at NAS Whidbey Island. After completing that assignment, he transferred to the Reserves and was hired by American Airlines, where he recently retired after a 30-year career flying the B-727, MD-80, B-757, B-767, B-777, and finally, the B-787. Col. Buescher retired from the Marine Corps Reserves in 2011 after 30 years of commission service. His reserve assignments included two tours as a Forward Air Controller and Executive Officer with an Airborne Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (3D ANGLICO), where he earned his Gold Marine Corps Jump Wings, two tours as a Civil Affairs Officer which included a tour of duty in Iraq during the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he finished up his career as the Senior Marine Liaison Officer to FEMA Region IX where his final assignment was to Marine Forces Pacific.
He graduated from the Army Airborne School, Medium Attack Weapons School Pacific, Crew Resource Management School, FEMA National Incident Management System, Forward Tactical Air Control Party (FAC) School, and numerous other schools and courses. He has 288 Carrier Landings on eight different U.S. Aircraft Carriers, over 2,400 tactical hours flying the A-6E Intruder, and over 16,000 hours flying six additional commercial jets for American Airlines. -
Terry Brodt (USAF)
Terry retired in 2017 after 44 years in the corporate travel industry with Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
Terry and his wife, Joan, moved from the Bay Area and never looked back, settling in the ArrowCreek community in Reno, NV. In 2019, Terry started the ArrowCreek Wine Lovers Club. It has become the largest active group in ArrowCreek, with membership exceeding 325 members. He recently served on the Purple Heart Honor and Recognition Dinner board. He also sits on the board of the Northern Nevada Veterans Alliance Organization.
Terry proudly served four years of active duty in the U. S. Air Force, including 18 months in Vietnam, assigned to the 614th Tactical Fighter Squadron, a close air support unit flying the F-100. He capped off his enlistment with a two-year stint in Madrid, Spain, serving in the 16th Air Force Intelligence Division. Augmenting his travel industry career, Terry was a professional TV Wrestling & Boxing Announcer. He was the ring announcer at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles and numerous other venues throughout Southern California. He did some TV work with ABC Wide World of Sports. He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and appeared in the hit TV series “Fall Guy” starring Lee Majors. He also appears in the feature film “The Bad Guys.”
During his time in the Bay Area, Terry was president and chairman of the Silicon Valley Business Travel Association, where for five years, he managed and directed the annual SVBTA Golf Tournament and fundraiser, raising over $200,000 for charity.
Terry is passionate about effective communication. He enjoys writing a monthly column, Terry’s Wine Corner, that appears in multiple magazines. He writes additional features for the ArrowCreek View magazine.
As a veteran himself, Terry is honored to use his communication and organizational skills to advance Veteran causes.

CDR. Doug Flannery (USN Ret)
After 31 years in the U.S. Navy, Doug retired as a Commander, both in the enlisted and officer ranks. Doug achieved the rank of Chief (E-7) during enlistment timeframe and earned designations as a Combat Diver, Naval Master Parachutist, Special Operations Technician, Marine Mammal Handler, Field Medicine specialization, USMC Amphibious Reconnaissance, Cold Weather Medicine/Survival Training, SERE specialist, U.S. Army Veterinary Technician qualification, U.S. Army Special Forces Medic Advance Trauma Management, U.S. Army Airborne, and U.S. Army Combat Diver qualified and as an officer, served as a Diving and Salvage Officer with qualifications in open and closed circuit diving as well as Dive Supervisor/Master.
Doug was assigned as SEALS/Explosive Ordnance Disposal (E.O.D.)/Plans Officer to Mine Countermeasure Squadron and deployed to the Persian Gulf to support Operation Iraqi Freedom, providing extensive mine clearance and theater security operations.
He served as an Operations Officer during deployment to Al Anbar Province, Iraq, supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom with Riverine patrols on the Euphrates River while protecting high-value targets. Doug served as Personnel Exchange Program Officer to the Belgian-Netherlands Mine Warfare Command in Oostende, Belgium, working with NATO Working Groups for Special Warfare (SEAL), Diving, E.O.D., Harbor Security, Very Shallow Water operations, and Mine Warfare and additionally served as Assistant to the Defense Attaché, US Embassy, Brussels, and also as a Senior Instructor for mine warfare and diving.
Doug then served in various senior-level command positions (Executive Officer / Commanding Officer) with a background in operations, intelligence, and national security before his final assignment as an Operations Analyst and Military Professor for the war gaming department at The Naval War College in Newport, RI.
After their Navy retirement, he was the Director of Operations for the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) / Boston Marathon and New York Road Runners (NYRR) / T.C.S. New York City Marathon over the next five years. Doug and his wife, Lacie, have completed two start-up businesses in the wine industry and are the current owners of the Mt. Rose Wine Co. in Reno, NV. He has completed 148 marathons, including five Boston Marathons. His personal best is 2:37 at the Austin Marathon. He has a bachelor’s degree in Education from Southern Illinois University and an M.B.A. from Texas A&M University. -
Lacie Flannery
Lacie is currently the co-owner of Mt. Rose Wine Co., following her successful tenure as the co-owner of kō-zē Wine Room in Glen Ellyn, which she and her husband sold in 2022 before relocating to Reno, NV.
From 2013 to 2020, Lacie made her mark in the endurance industry, specializing in large-scale marathons. Throughout her roles in the running community, she oversaw all aspects of event production and business development, focusing on emergency planning. Her portfolio includes prestigious events such as the Big Sur International Marathon, Bank of America Chicago Marathon, Advocate International Chicago 5K, Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Half Marathon, Bike New York, Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle, and the Napa Valley Marathon & Half Marathon. With over 15 years of experience in event planning and execution, Lacie has developed a specialty in women's running, bringing a unique and valuable perspective to the industry.
Before making her mark in event production, Lacie served as the President of Swirlgear, a women's running apparel company she founded in 2005 and successfully sold in 2014. Her entrepreneurial spirit and extensive experience have positioned her as a respected and influential figure in branding and large-scale event planning.

Mark Bailey (US Army)
Mark enlisted in the US Army and completed his basic and advanced infantry training at Ft. Ord near Monterey, California. After turning down an appointment to Westpoint, Mark completed officer’s candidate training at Ft. Benning, Georgia. He subsequently served as a Tactical Officer, training other officer candidates.
After completing airborne, Ranger, and Special Forces training, he was assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group in Vietnam. After 5th returned to the United States, Mark was assigned to the 101st Airborne as an infantry officer. H was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star for Valor, and the Purple Heart before being discharged and returning to the United States. In 2021, Mark was awarded the Distinguished Medal of the Regiment (DMOR) by the 101st Airborne in a ceremony at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, where he reconnected with his Brothers from their time in Vietnam.
Upon returning, he completed an undergraduate business degree at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. He was then employed as a Certified Public Accountant with an international accounting firm, Arthur Young and Company, in Los Angeles before resigning, returning to San Luis Obispo, and starting his own firm. In 1984, he moved to Reno, Nevada, and established a professional accounting firm, which subsequently became Excelsis Accounting Group.
Mark has volunteered with the Reno Philharmonic, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and many others. He has been on the Executive Board of Directors for the Reno Air Race Association for many years and is currently serving as Treasurer of the Northern Nevada Veterans Alliance.
Mark is married to Janice, and they share a wonderful blended family with four wonderfully successful children and four very precious grandchildren.
